Site Safety Representative
Candidate would perform daily oversight inspections and complete required daily checklists, provide weekly "Tool Box" training, prepare and review Job Hazard Analysis with workers. Participate in site inspections with the owner's representatives and safety consultant. Conduct daily building monitoring, and crack readings. Document accident/incident investigation reports. Ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience with construction safety, and relevant certifications: 30 hour OSHA Construction Outreach, 40 Hour HAZwoper, 8 hour Confined Space, and CPR First Aid Training.
Mechanical Estimator
-Prepares take-off and pricing for all mechanical disciplines.
-Responsible for all aspects of estimating including pre-construction, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, value engineering and subcontractor bidding. Maintains contact with subcontractors and vendors capable of serving on company projects
-Review, interpret, and accurately estimate scopes of work as described in the project documents. Price in a realistic manner the items that have been taken off, including self performed work.
-Minimum seven years of experience in mechanical estimating with a mechanical contractor and / or general subcontractor required
-Advanced knowledge of construction practices and procedures for industrial projects involving HVAC, Piping, Plumbing and Process systems and associated Equipment is a plus.
QA Engineer
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for site construction, management of civil, mechanical and electrical subcontractors, compliant with contract terms & conditions, installation, schedule, logistics, safety, quality, and constructability of all aspects of projects. The on-site Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of all site-specific contractual obligations in the construction of the project.
Requires At least five(5) years of quality related experience and shall be a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) as recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or shall be a certified ISO-9000 Lead Auditor as recognized by the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB).
-A member of ASQ, or other recognized national quality focused organization.
Utilities Superintendent
Supervise all work on heavy construction sites. Schedule and coordinate manpower and materials. Monitor and direct the activities of all work groups in order to meet targeted completion dates. Must have experience in installing utilities and working with water mains and sewers. Previous supervisory experience in the heavy construction industry and good communications skills are required. At least 5 years of experience.
Engineering Co-Op Student
This position provides a full time employment opportunity for college students during alternating semesters or trimesters. Opportunities are also available for Co-Op students to work during breaks and summer vacations. Candidates should possess good communications skills, be enrolled in a course of study toward a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and be interested in continuing to work for John P. Picone, Inc. full time after graduation. Co-Op students complete various short-term projects both in the office and in the field as their experience permits. College credit may be available from some schools for this experience.
Summer Engineering Intern
This is a position specifically designed as full time employment for college students while on summer vacation or during breaks. Candidates should possess good communication skills and be enrolled in a course of study toward a degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering and be interested in continuing full time after graduation. Interns complete various short-term projects both in the office and in the field as their experience permits.
Recent Graduates Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
We are seeking to hire several Mechanical and Civil Engineers who have recently graduated with a degree in either Civil or Mechanical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have been working in the heavy construction industry before or since graduation and will have very good communication skills.
Project Manager
Manage large heavy construction projects over 50 million dollars. Civil Engineering Degree or extensive related field experience in the heavy construction industry is required. Responsible for all aspects of large projects from initial estimates to close outs. Candidate should be a team player with good interpersonal skills. PE preferred.
Civil Superintendent
Supervise all work operations on heavy construction sites. Schedule and coordinate manpower and materials. Monitor and direct the activities of all work groups in order to meet targeted completion dates. Previous supervisory experience in the heavy construction industry and good communication skills are required.
Assistant Civil Superintendent
Coordinate the activities of various work groups on large construction sites. Assist the Superintendent in meeting deadlines and scheduled completion dates. Previous supervisory experience in the heavy construction industry and good communication skills are required.
Project Engineer
Manage heavy construction projects under 50 million dollars or serve as an assistant to the Project Manager on large jobs. Civil Engineering Degree or related experience in the construction industry required. Candidate should be a team player with good interpersonal skills. PE preferred.
Engineering Assistant
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, supervisors, and inventory control personnel. Requires extensive telephone contact and record keeping. Some familiarity with computers and good communications skills are necessary prerequisites. College or experience in construction industry is required. This can be an entry-level position for the right person.
